Ok some I'm not posting on environmentally friendly products for weddings however the new trend color in the industry is Green! The Color green known or unknown is the outline of all weddings, Green grass, and green floral accents. You certainly can't escape the boldness of these added shots of green in the collage of pictures below. So enjoy and let your next party Be Greeen!

Color

I was a little scared when my little client wanted neon colors but these cupcakes from the local grocery store (if you could believe it!) were both inexpensive and cute and we even got an 8 inch round cake with the same colors.

A Wedding at the Rancho Santa Fe Inn!

So here is a great example of an inexpensive candy table done for a wedding in the Ranch. I did this and created this from scratch with a very low budget. I incorporated the candy bars and the mints and added marshmello's, m and m's White chocolate truffles and boxed chocolate cups, and french cones to shove it all in!!!! The men loved the cones they stuffed them full and I saw a lot of them put them in their shirt pockets and present them to their dates at the wedding. It was darling. I use super thick ribbon and the same pearl stickers they actually come in a row just as you see on the glass cylinders. These Cylinders are inexpensive here in San Diego at Wholesale flowers which is open to the public or for you vendors Shinoda of course.

It's all in the Details!

Add these to your candy table for just under 20 bucks! Ok you have all seen the candies that are sold at drugs stores in the red bags that say Just 99cents. These are those with a face lift. I got 10 bags here and some small cellophane bags for candies on the candy aisle at the craft store. Again details details details!!!!! I got colored paper from the scrapbooking aisle and mixed it up colors and prints in the samee pallet and just added the details small pearl sticker. Add stones, crosses a child or loved ones name a sticker. You can also do this with fabric! For fabric staple the bag together and then cover the staple with a cute button. Do this with the kids for a unique Valentine!

This is an easy and elegant look for any party. The Candy table! In years past you had to order or print your own candy bar labels. I even thought that because the candy bars don't come in paper and foil that this might not look as good. I was wrong. These were so cute and inexpensive. I just picked out a color theme and since prints usually are more expensive I purchased less of the prints and more corresponding colors of paper from the craft store and then cut to size. The pearls on each add a little extra but you can use a jewel too. The pearls are stickers that came in a set of 36 pearls. I purchased the plexi glass at the local hardware store and purched the plexi glass on four square shot glasses. You can do this at a birthday party and add the childs name simply in the center.

To Braise or not to Braise?

I took a great cooking class at William Sonoma today on Braising. It actually is very simple and I am so excited to try it at home. I realized all the pans I had been cooking on needed to be thrown out. They are nice pans, but the non stick element even if peeling a touch could be harmful to your health. I also learned that William is still alive in Northern Ca. he actually goes to work everyday and is over 90 years old. He also contributes to most of the elements of the store and almost entirely to the cook book lines at William Sonoma. I realized also that cooking at high temperatures is a big no no! Oops!!!! I signed up for more classes, they are Free, and so informative. Plus you get to taste the yummy food! The d5 cookware is amazing I can't wait to collect all of the pieces. You might think what in the world does this have to do with event planning. Well, it is so important for you private party planners, brides to be and others to know what your food, the focal point of most events has been cooked on and how it was cooked. Until today truthfully I had no idea what braising was. In a word it is, slow cooking. Which can be done in the oven on the stovetop or in a slowcooker. It makes your choice of meat so tender and I was able to eat it with a plastic fork on a paper plate. Absolutely amazing!

Wedding in the Ranch

What a great way to give a favor to a guest. The sheets of wax come in lots of colors at your local craft store. The ribbon does too! For larger quantities search the web for ribbon my favorite is www.nashvillewraps.com, you can have a saying or your names printed right on the ribbon. This was a great wedding that I had the pleasure to be invited to as well as to help in! To roll the candle stick favors have a girls night!
